What a day for Florida fans in Jax! The Dalton Agency kicked off “Go Where the Gators Go,” the first of a series of University of Florida & Shands Jacksonville free events for UF Alumni and Gator fans. UF Head Football Coach Urban Meyer was the guest speaker.  Attendees learned about Shands’ top-notch medical services and were photographed with Albert the Alligator.  Also raffled off – two footballs autographed by Urban Meyer himself. Check out the pictures below!

Sure, Jacksonville is known for its golf, beaches and proximity to popular Central Florida. But Jacksonville is also home to 11 world class medical and research centers. The City of Jacksonville, Florida, Visit Jacksonville, the Dalton Agency and executives from local medical facilities announced a medical tourism initiative that will brand Jacksonville as “America’s Health Center.” Southwest Airlines Spirit Magazine profiled Jacksonville as a whole and made special note about our “Thriving” medical industry. Visit www.visitjacksonville.com/medical for even more information!

McD’s new taste sensation, McCafe, is rolling through Central Florida. 2 wrapped buses hit Volusia County last week, along with 2 more in Brevard County. 3 Orlando Lynx buses are set to hit the streets this week. We’re lovin’ it!

Some very concerned parents and local business leaders are making some noise around Jacksonville, hoping to convince Florida lawmakers to stop cutting funds for public schools and to gain more local control of school budgets for public school officials.  The name of this grassroots movement is Save Duval Schools.  Right now, Tallahassee mandates where the education budget is spent, not the school officials. Former news anchor at WJXT, Deborah Gianoulis, is helping lead the new effort. Florida’s school system regularly finishes last in rankings of state spending on public education.  Appalling, we know.  Dalton Agency is proud to be a part of this movement.  We built the Save Duval Schools website and are also in charge of PR.  If Duval County Public Schools have touched you in anyway, we think this is a cause worth your time to read more about, or maybe even donate to!  It brings a whole new meaning to the phrase “the children are our future.” Read more about this initiative here, here, and here and visit the official website, saveduvalschools.org for more information.
